COMMITTEES

The New Mexico Academic Advisement Association encourages participation in the various committes that manage the affairs and efforts of the orgnization.

Special committees will be formed, as warranted, by the NMAAA Board. The following permanent committees have been proposed and will be discussed further at the 2006 annual conference:

  • Representing 2 year schools—issues and personnel

  • Representing 4 year schools—issues and personnel

  • Member development
This committee will evaluate and review methods for developing the knowledge, skills and aptitudes of the professional and faculty advisors who are members of NMAAA.

  • Constitution
This committee will review the organization bylaws and constitution to
insure that structure of the NMAAA stays abreast of the latest trends and developments in higher education while maintaining its relevance and responsiveness to its members.

  • Publications
NMAAA feels it is critical to communicate with its membership and other stakeholders. A newsletter (electronic version) is the first proposed vehicle for this communication. We are seeking a group of individuals to write, edit and produce this publication.

If you are interested in participating in one or more of the NMAAA committees please contact us.
